About us SHAWCOs Rags 2 Riches is a Social Entrepreneurial project planning to run as a social business. All profits from this venture are directly used to fund the SHAWCO Saturday School and sending these Learners through University.
Furthermore, the Rags 2 Riches project should make a positive social impact. We have defined our social impact goals as: Contributing to a common sense of social responsibility Creating awareness about core social issues Creating opportunities for entrepreneurial activities and poverty alleviation in disadvantaged communities. Promoting education in our society
The Rags 2 Riches team consists of SHAWCO staff, student interns and other volunteers. How to donate? If you are interested in donating your clothes, shoes, furniture or similar, please contact SHAWCO’s Rags 2 Riches.
If you are a corporate or organisation and want to organise a drive or place a permanent/short-time collection box at your workplace please contact us. Together we can organise a successful drive that will help a Learner get through Varsity.
Want to retail? As Rags 2 Riches has not set up a retail store outlet, we are only selling our donated items in larger bulks. If you are interested in becoming a R2R retailer please contact us.
To become a R2R retailer you must: By becoming a R2R retailer you will: Be able to buy our donated items at a low cost Receive business training and experience Assist in sending a Learner from SHAWCOs Saturday School to University.
Want to become a R2R Volunteer? We are always on the lookout for business- and other students who are interested in learning more about running a Social Business and Social Entrepreneurship in general.
